Iraqi forces target IS defences on Mosul's eastern edge

EAST OF MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - Iraqi forces backed by a U.S.-led air coalition targeted Islamic State defences on the eastern edge of Mosul with artillery fire and air strikes on Tuesday, a day after fighting for the first time inside the city.
