UK government should drop budget surplus promise, says IFS

LONDON (Reuters) - Finance minister Philip Hammond's aim to run a budget surplus by the mid-2020s risks being thrown off track next month if official forecasters rein in rosy assumptions about long-run growth, a leading think tank warned on Monday.
